The Gold Wing has been around for well over two decades now and in 2001 the new Gold Wing is lighter, more luxurious and a great deal more powerful than ever before.
The new 1,832cc engine delivers 118 horsepower and 125 lb./ft of torque. The cylinders are horizontally opposed (flat / boxer) and 6 in number. The engine revs freely and emits quite a nice bark through the exhaust system. With an aftermarket exhaust, I reckon it would wail a bit like an Aussie six-pack Chrysler Hemi.
Two 40mm diameter injection throttle bodies are fed from a 7 litre airbox. The injectors are Keihin high pressure units with four nozzle tips in each injector.
A little surprising is the fact that the engine has only two valves per cylinder.
As you would expect the engine is electronically controlled and has a built in knock sensor to help things along when fuel quality could be questionable. An automatic choke is fitted and works just fine.

Three companies got together back in 2007 to develop better motorcycles, and here is their first brainchild. The three companies, Inmotec Open Inmotec link in a new window (Moto2 and Moto3 racing technology), Luma Open Luma link in a new window (Europe’s biggest anti-theft devices) and Dhemen Open Dhemen link in a new window (industrial design group).
The joint venture company is called LEM Open LEM in a new window, and their first product is named LEMev Stream, and it is an electric scooter. The scooter is 100% Spanish, designed and built there, and funded by national and local authorities.

The LEMev Stream comes in two colors, black or white. Its brushless electric engine delivers (kW power and 22 HP. The torque is a respectable 100 Nm.
The LEMev can speed up to 105 kph (65 mph), and reach 80 kph (50 mph) in 6 seconds from standstill. You are not going to ride very long distances with the scooter, but for commuter traffic, it’s fine; the range of the scooter is 80 kilometers (50 miles). The scooter can be operated between very cold and very hot weather (-10°C to 50°C – 14°F to 122°F).
The 6 LiFePO4 batteries supply 72 V and 50 AH, giving you 4 kW/h battery capacity. Using a standard charger, you can recharge the battery to 100% in 5 hours, but using the optional fast charger, you can reach the same level in 2 hours. The battery life cycle, is 2,000 cycles and 160,000 miles.
The 196 Kg (432 lbs) bike and storage space under the seat for two helmets, plus additional space under the dashboard, one of them is lockable/motorbiker.org

On its own, no biggie… motorcycles tilt when you lean into a curve. But for trikes, it’s a different matter. Jim Harrel together with Too Kool Cycles transformed his Harley-Davidson Tourer into a special trike.
who have seen his unique trike liked it. They liked it so much, they are asking for something similar. So now Jim is going into business. A kit is being made that will transform your late model Harley tourer into a TRT. Prices are not fixed yet, but count between US$8,000 and $12,000 for the full kit, including a matching paint job.
So what we’ve got here is a Harley version of the Piaggio MP3, but nicer.

During a recent visit of the Dutch nieuwsmotor.nl to the KTM factory in Austria, Head of Development of street bikes, Robert Prielinger, announced the coming of new Super Duke and Adventure models for 2013. The new twins took longer to develop, according to Prielinger, because the company developed new electronics. Porsche is collaborating with KTM on the new technology, specifically for the ABS on the SMT. Although the successor to the 990 Adventure was ready at the end of 2010, KTM’s Stefan Pierer personally rejected it, because the engine resembled the BMW GS too much. Until 2013, KTM will work on the successors for the Adventure and Super Duke.
